Community and Regional News — March 2024

  • REGIONAL DAY OF RECOLLECTION.
    Our spring Regional Day of Recollection (DoR) is on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Carmelite House of Prayer, Napa. (See here for more details and driving directions.) Please attend this DoR as we receive Nanette and Cristina into the Order.
  • DRIVERS NEEDED.
    Please let Marilou know if you are coming to the Day of Recollection so we know how many drivers we need. Drivers willing to bring members please also let Marilou know so we can accommodate those who cannot drive.
  • NO COMMUNITY MEETINGS IN APRIL AND MAY.
    Because of our Regional Day of Recollection in April there will be no commumity meeting. There will also be no community meeting in May due to lack of facilities. We will resume our Community Meeting in June.
  • 2024 ANNUAL DUES.
    Provincial dues will be submitted at the end of the March. If you have not paid your dues yet, please make your check payable to Georgia, and submit to her by March 24, 2024.

Ongoing Formation Homework

  • Mary the Perfect Contemplative: Part 1, Daughter of Zion, Chapter 2, “A Town of Judah: Trusting in God”, pages 53-61.
  • Study/Discussion questions: Study Guide, page 18-19, questions 38-42. You may also wish to answer the questions for Chapter 2, found in Appendix 1 of the book.

Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina for March 17 community meeting is the gospel reading for the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time: Mark 4:35-41.

Prayer Intentions

Please pray for all Carmelites, especially:
  • Our members who are ill and/or inactive
  • All Carmelites who are isolates
  • Our deceased members
